The teaching of architectural design is a theoretical-practical activity, which aims to build a knowledge through the experience of the project, based on the research of references or significant repertoires. This article aims to present a synthesis of the first stage of definition of the implantation worked in the discipline of Architectural Project III of the FAU-UFRGS, whose theme is the contemporary dwelling as inheritance of the modern inhabit: the collective dwelling in part of the area predicted by the Project of the Residential District of Praia de Belas, dated 1953, on the Guaíba River, in Porto Alegre, capital of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The work develops in three scales: urban and landscape, building and the apartment´s interiors. The immersion on the deployment scale allows the understanding of landscaping as an indispensable complement to inhabit in superquadras and the use of significant repertoires during the launch of the party, such as the work of Burle Marx and the strategy of integration between architecture and landscaping applied in the project of the park La Villette , of 1983, by Bernard Tschumi. The article presents the three foundations, the three scales and the strategies used in the landscape scale of the atelier of projects with the respective repertoires used, initiating a research that aims to unite two complementary fields: architecture and landscaping. The use of repertoire in project teaching points the way of invention from the reinterpretation of precedentes.
