In eight previous editions of the PROJETAR Seminars, an international event on teaching, research and practice in the area of Architecture and Urbanism Design, a large collection of titles was produced with research results and theoretical and practical experiments in this field. This variety of works contains important statistical and qualitative data for characterization of the state of the art and development of researches in the Design area in Brazil and in part of Latin America. This article presents the results of a research supported by CNPq that analyzed the metadata of 1,064 articles published in the PROJETAR Seminars proceedings between 2003 and 2015, with a more detailed look at a statistically representative sample of this universe of study. It was mainly sought to identify the themes and objects worked as well as the theoretical and methodological references used. It was observed the prevalence of the theme of Design Teaching, one of the focus of the Seminar, evidencing the increasing use of the studio as a laboratory of design experiments and various pedagogical strategies. It was also evidenced the increase of research on methods and design processes, especially related to the insertion of new informational technologies and its repercussions on the way of designing. It should be highlighted the considerable presence of works that seek to relate the socio-environmental sustainability and the participation of users in the design processes.
