This article investigates the city of Balneário Camboriú, unveiling possible policies for the elitization of urban space, through the master plan and spatial evidence of the product city. The research was divided in three stages: initially, the article presents a brief discussion about the city master plan; a survey of rankings and the recognition of the city with high quality of life indicators and, finally, a visual comparison between the main roads of the cities, trying to understand the different landscapes and infrastructures of each one of the areas. Data were tabulated and compared to each other. As a result of the research, this article demonstrates that Balneário Camboriú has been constructing a policy of exclusion of the central area that has support in the master plan, and uses postmodern urbanistic concepts for its own marketing. The city sold, which would be for everyone, today is only a privileged group in the central area, many of them are temporary residents only, while the other city areas do not have equivalent infrastructure.
