This article aims to verify the insertion of social and political contents in the required bibliographies for the architectural design disciplines, providing a critical reflection on the teaching of architecture in brazilian public universities. From a contextualization about space, its relations with different social groups, the teaching and practice of architects and urban planners, this approach seeks to understand how solutions are sought for these complexities in design classes. As a research methodology, the best rated courses in Enade 2017 were evaluated, through an investigation of these themes’ presence in their bibliographic references, based on the categorization and analysis of the nature of the works and the profile of their authors.
