Cara a cara com a/o cliente: experiências, aproximações e atravessamentos no ateliê de projeto
Abstract
One of the challenges in the architectural design studio is to approach professional practice. However, one component is often left out of the exercises: dialogue with the client, dialogue with the people who will bring the demands and / or material resources that can shape the student’s upcoming professional pactice. This paper is a brief experience report on a project exercise carried out in the first semester of 2019 with second year undergraduate students and real clients, two families who participated voluntarily in two moments: presentation of needs and evaluation of results. In both events the students had to listen carefully and organize what was being said, as well as express and position themselves as responsible for the process of architectural production. The narrative completes the qualitative data from an open questionnaire report given for class and customer evaluations. It is an ongoing early-stage project that will be repeated in the first half of 2020, then with an ethnographic approach included. Far from closing or even satisfactorily organizing the subject, this brief report hopes to foster the field of debate on otherness, through the development of sensitive listening methodologies, with possibilities and powers within the teaching-learning process
