This article deals with the design of Brazilian banking agencies and the changes that have occurred in their spatiality over time, leading to the re-signification of the space in the face of the dynamism of technological changes. The main objective is to highlight the transformation of the architecture of the banking branches in order to reshape their use according to the new market requirements. The methodology used is based on bibliographic and iconographic research, exploratory and qualitative. The results obtained refer to the survey obtained on the use initially given to the studied buildings and their subsequent use, according to the historical content and its adaptation to contemporaneity. From the original project to the present day, one notices the maintenance of the symbolic character of the banking architecture and its remarkable presence in the cities, despite the transformation of its use, reinforcing the importance of its implantation in privileged locations.
