The present article aims to elaborate an approximation to the design process of the Spanish architect Enric Miralles (1955-2000), with an approach on the importance of the study of the initial phase, where the conceptualization and ideation in his projects are considered. As manifested, the thought and process of creation of the architect during the initial conception phase in the preparation of his projects will be the main theme addressed in this work in which it is proposed to present the importance of the study of strategies of ideation and reasoning, or rather, ”beam", according to the expression used by the architect himself, which led to the result of his main works: "(...) I would say that it is not so much a line, but a beam. A project consists of knowing how to tie multiple lines together, multiple ramifications that open in different directions." (MIRALLES, 1995)
