Public spaces play a key role in building citizenship by considering cities as political actors. In this way, they serve as a stage within the city so that exchanges between communities, whether real or virtual, take place. The main objective of this work is to create instruments that help the understanding of the space and social dynamics of the Coronel Pedro Osório Square. Rethinking the relationship between the role of architects, urbanists and planners and the search for a methodical knowledge that makes possible the understanding of the dynamicity of public spaces, emphasizing its importance as an articulator and constructor of citizenship. We will use as a case study the Coronel Pedro Osório Square in Pelotas - RS, a stage of daily events of social integration of the city.
