Estudo da circulação e percurso em quatro edifícios culturais projetados por Paulo Mendes da Rocha para a cidade de São Paulo
Abstract
This paper presents an analysis of four cultural projects by the architect Paulo Mendes da Rocha and his collaborators for the city of São Paulo: MuBE (1986-1995), State Pinacoteca (1993), FIESP Cultural Center (1996- 1998) and SESC 24 de Maio (2000-2017). The research made an interpretative analysis of the projects based on the circulation system and its elements, identifying and relating with the projects strategies. The analysis was supported by reading the texts written by the architect, as well as interviews and testimonies, visits, photographs and analytical and observation drawings. The assumption that justifies this investigation is that the circulation system, together with its elements, can structure and define the architectural party, furthermore it can materialize important concepts of the modern architecture, such as fluidity and continuity of space and form.
