Starting from Morro da Capuava as an object of study, the research developed seeks to explain aspects of the place, addressing its history of occupation and its qualities as a cultural landscape. It is also justified by the objective of emphasizing the virtues of the place, also for the devotional purposes that already occur there, linking them to the natural aspects (visual amplitude, vegetation, climate) of its constitution. Historical research has shown that space has already been seen as border; already was the intersection of the axes of expansion of the city; was and is still considered a place of hierophany; was listed as cultural heritage (deprived of this legal protection, recovering it years later) by the municipal government; was the subject of online disputes regarding the obligation to remain as a public and secular space; and was finally equipped with infrastructure through a municipal project in the year 2016. The study addresses how the aspects Public Use-Environmental Interest Historical Event Record constitute the singularity of the place.
