From the great pyramids, the coming of the moon and the rise of the internet, the greatest human deeds came from our species' yearning for tomorrow. Our dreams about the future are the result of our greatest desires and fears, and can be used as escapism, but also as hope of how things could be, fostering better attitudes and provoking reflections. There is a typology in Design, aimed at exploring these dreams by questioning the social, ethical and cultural implications of emerging technologies. This article makes an analysis of the experiment on Speculative Design carried out with students of the architecture and urbanism course of a Brazilian public university. The term "Speculative Design", defined in the 1990s, is related to defining more desirable futures, and avoiding undesirable scenarios. In this sense, the methodology defined was based on bibliographic review, case studies, practical experimentation (dissemination, application, analysis).
