A PRAÇA DA CIDADANIA, UM REFERENCIAL PARA O PAISAGISMO MODERNO BRASILEIRO
Abstract
From the perspective of the main access to the UFSC Campus, is located the Citizenship Square, designed in 1970 by Roberto Burle Marx. This article will describe the main characteristics of this space that, on campus, assumes a prominent position, due to its centrality. The technical procedure used was the bibliographic research, throughout the identification of the main concepts that guided the projects developed by the landscaper. Also, there was applied the procedure of data collection, related to the Citizenship Square, from which results the project description, which will be presented at the end of the article. It is believed that this square represents a historical landmark in the campus structure, having a landscape design of significant distinction. Also, it is understood that universities act as a potential space for conducting research that advances in solutions for the quality of the urban landscape, having, in squares, a typology of importance.
