This paper proposes to develop a comparative analysis of two design processes where we identify a phenomenological theoretical approach, being one national and one international. The selected case studies are Therme Vals (Vals, Switzerland, 1993-1996), from Swiss studio Peter Zumthor & Partners and the Lygia Pape Gallery (Brumadinho/MG, Brazil, 2010-2012), from Brazilian studio Rizoma. The selected projects resemble the theoretical approach, but are distinguished by geographical location and typology. The methodological procedure adopted, which develops in four stages, was based on a general guide provided and worked on the Methods and Techniques of Architectural Projection course of the Graduate Program in Architecture and Urban Planning at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. Thus, the comparative analysis developed explores divergences and convergences between the way phenomenology was approached in both projects.
