This paper analyses the use of repertory in the architectural design learning process. Firstly, we make a brief reflection on the concept of culture and its direct relation with repertory acquisition. Then we address the concept of cultural schema through the model proposed by Önal and Turgut (2017). Finally, we pose some questions relating to contemporary socio-pedagogical aims and the advantages of using the model at the studio as a mediation for discussing theory and practice of architecture from a multicultural point of view. We hope to bring into light processes that enable improvement of the repertory by active, critic acquisition of formal knowledge, instead of the typical tabula rasa attitude which colonizes thinking.
