Por uma gero-arquitetura: a inclusão dos idosos no processo projetual

Abstract

The inclusion of concerns with elders has become quite relevant in the discussion about the design constraints of architectural spaces not only for housing purposes, but also regarding various functional programs, especially those for public and collective use. This friendly architecture of this growing population’s portion tends to stand out more and more due to the progressive increase in life expectancy in both Brazil and the world. From the reflection on didactic experience in guiding building projects for the elderly, this article brings some considerations based on web - bibliographic sources’ review those ideal with this subject , which places architecture as one of the responsible factors for improving the elderly population’s living conditions. Aiming to arouse interest for this recent perspective, it intends to present some references and point out guidelines to architects and designers.
