O sistema de espaços livres na constituição da forma urbana contemporânea: grau de consolidação urbana da cidade de Passo Fundo/RS

Abstract

Brazil is composed of a large urban morphological variety. Thus, this study aims to contribute, nationally and locally, in the studies of free space systems in the constitution of the contemporary urban form of the city of Passo Fundo. In view of this, the objective of this paper is to obtain the degree of urban consolidation according to the urban occupation map of the city of Passo Fundo. The methodology used was a geoprocessing technique through the QGIS software, then for the analysis of maps, the systematic method of image interpretation was applied. In this way, it was possible to verify the compact character of the urban form of the city, the characteristics of the system of urban free spaces, such as its significant green areas, water bodies, special spaces and guiding elements of urban expansion. Finally, the consolidated urban spots, in consolidation and not in installments, were important for the verification of the high degree of urban consolidation of the city, assessing Passo Fundo as a consolidated urban center and with constant spaces in consolidation.
