Experimentações com o lugar amazônico: Projeto Arquitetônico de Unidade Básica de Saúde pelo tipo palafita (Barcarena – PA)

Abstract

The present article intends to expose the project process steps developed in the proposal of the architectural design of Basic Health Unit for the region of the Nazario Hole, located in the city of Barcarena - Pará - Brazil. Spatial relations and riverside life-style are considered as a strategy to stimulate architectural solutions by associating physical and experiential aspects to an institutional health architecture in the Amazon region. The concept of permeability and place was adopted as a humanizing element to guide the design exercise. The proposed solutions serve the riverside universe of the Amazon, merging vernacular knowledge of the region with the formal knowledge of architecture.
