Análise de espaços livres de uso público para idosos: aplicação de indicadores da qualidade na Regional Centro, Vila Velha - ES

Abstract

Population aging is a growing and growing demographic phenomenon in the Brazilian reality. As people grow older, the ideas and paradigms of individuals change, even in relation to mobility and accessibility, and the relationship of this public with urban spaces also change. In this context, the present article aims to verify the inclusion of elderly people in spaces free of public use existing in Regional I of the municipality of Vila Velha - ES. The study was carried out after a contextualization of the theme and bibliographical research, which helped in the elaboration of indicators based on the adaptation of the Tool Index of iCam and inclusion of new, created according to the basic needs of a quality public space. These indicators were divided into four categories,respectively: Protection and Security; Comfort and Image; Access and Connections; and Sociability, Uses and Activities. And through this methodology and with the results obtained, it was possible to understand that the indicators within the categories "Protection and Safety" and "Comfort and Image" influence the quality and vitality of the Regional Center squares.
