Abstract

The present article intends to demonstrate alternative ways of penetrating the barriers of modification and production of the urban space, by focusing on the process of designing and designing a square within a peripheral community, using a participatory methodology, acting in a way to transfigure part the landscape of this territory. Through dynamics that use the playful vision of architecture, pertinent to develop a cognitive apprehension that relates the resident's ways of thinking, needs and behaviors, the study can overcome the common practice of identifying problems and spatially modifying the place with the construction of a square.
