| dc.description.abstract | RESUMO O presente trabalho trata da arquitetura de novos edifícios inseridos em sítios históricos, e toma como exemplo o projeto arquitetônico do edifício garagem, do arquiteto Paulo Mendes da Rocha, que é composto de dois edifícios interligados por uma passarela aérea sobre a rua Madre de Deus, que compõem o Shopping Paço Alfândega, localizado no Bairro do Recife. O projeto foi alvo de grande polêmica, tanto pelo sistema construtivo adotado e material empregado, como pelo impacto provocado pelo novo edifício em um centro histórico. O debate sobre a renovação do bairro, sítio histórico de grande relevância para a cidade, gira em torno da transformação ou da conservação urbana. Alguns setores da sociedade, dentre esses, parte da Academia, temem que as novas construções venham a comprometer de modo irreversível a morfologia e a paisagem urbana do bairro, podendo até vir a romper com as características morfológicas do conjunto urbano. Para outros, o bairro é constituído por edifícios de diferentes períodos da evolução urbana da cidade; estruturados por sistemas construtivos condizentes com a época de suas construções, de modo que a inserção do novo projeto significa um testemunho da época atual e dialoga de modo adequado com o lugar, respeitando o gabarito existente e outros elementos morfológicos. ABSTRACT The present work is about the construction of new buildings settled in historic fabrics. As an example of such constructions it was taken, the new Parking Building, designed by the arquitect Paulo Mendes da Rocha. The Parking building has two main buildings connected by an upward passage above Madre de Deus’s street, and it is part of the Paço Anfandega shopping center, placed at Bairro do Recife. The project of the Parking Building has been the main target of a great discussion about new constructive system, new façade materials, new urban objects settled in an historical fabric. The debate on the renewal area of great relevance for the city, turns around the transformation or of the urban conservation. Some sectors of the society, amongst these, part of the Academy, fear that the new constructions come to compromise in irreversible way the morphology and the urban landscape of the quarter, being able until coming to breach with the morphologic characteristics of the urban set. For others, the quarter is constituted by buildings of different periods of the urban evolution of the city; structuralized for constructive systems with the time of its constructions, way that the insertion of the new project means a certification of the current time and dialogues in adjusted way with the place, respecting the existing answer sheet and other morphologic elements. | pt_BR |
