| dc.description.abstract | RESUMO Com o lançamento do concurso em 2006 para a ampliação da Biblioteca de Estocolmo, projeto do renomado arquiteto Eric Gunnar Asplund, um novo cenário se anuncia e com ele, uma pergunta inevitável, qual seria esse novo cenário ? Como intervir em uma obra ícone da Arquitetura Moderna Escandinava, de autoria de um dos dois mais proeminentes arquitetos [juntamente com Alvar Aalto], escandinavos do início do século XX ? Qual o papel da nova edificação? Apenas um novo elemento justaposto ao emblemático edifício, reverenciando-o [marginal] ou rivalizando em notoriedade [central] com ele ? Marco ou ornamento ? Diante do dilema, a idéia de um complemento “suplementar”, ou seja, um acréscimo que, somado, pudesse ser não apenas necessário à nova condição desejada para a Biblioteca mas, capaz de alterar o sentido do existente. Optou-se, assim, por uma solução projetual que poderia ser entendida como um conjunto edificado de responsabilidade urbana e não apenas um objeto na paisagem. Ao contrário de apenas realçar a dimensão monumental e “sublime” da arquitetura existente, uma intervenção capaz de, em conjunto com a Biblioteca [ampliação], iniciar uma nova territorialidade na cidade Um novo “ponto de intensidade” urbano [sublime dinâmico?], uma arquitetura “suporte” que, ao mesmo tempo se coloca a serviço da informação e do conhecimento e da própria cidade, e não meramente um elemento a ser contemplado à distância [sublime matemático]. O novo edifício, quase aderente e quase independente [párergon] em relação ao histórico edifício e à cidade, configura-se como um “container” e um sistema de circulação vertical projetado como um grande andaime, capaz de articular três conjuntos urbanos atualmente desarticulados, a Biblioteca, a rua Odengatan e o importante Observatório da cidade, situado no topo da colina. ABSTRACT With the launching of the 2006 contest for the enlargement of Stockholm Library, a project by the renown architect Eric Gunnar Asplund, a new scenery is announced and with it an inevitable question: which scenery would this be? How could one interfere in a work which is an icon of Scandinavian Modern Architecture, the work of one of the most preeminent Scandinavian architects [together with Alvar Aalto] of the early 20th. Century? What is the role of new edification? Is it only a new element placed side by side with the emblematic building, venerating [marginal] or rivaling in notoriety [central] with it? Mark or ornament ? In view of the dilemma, the idea of a “supplementary” complement, that is, an addition which, when added, would not only be necessary for the so wished new condition of the Library, but would also be capable of altering the sense of the existing building. Thus, the option was for a project solution which could be understood as a built set of urban responsability and not only an “object” in the landscape. Instead of simply highlighting the monumental and “sublime” dimension of the existing architecture, an intervention which is capable of, together with the Library[enlargement], initiating a new territoriality in the city. A new urban “point of intensity” [dynamic sublime?], a kind of “support” architecture which would at the same time serve information and knowledge and the city itself, not merely an element to be contemplated from far away [mathematical sublime]. The new building, almost adherent and almost independent [párergon] as related to the historical building and to the city, configured as a “container” and a vertical circulation system projected as a large scaffolding, capable of articulating three urban spots which are currently unarticulated, the Library, Odengatan Street and the important city Observatory, located at the top of the hill. | pt_BR |
