ABSTRACT The article contextualizes the “Olinda’s Water Tower” – an architect Luiz Nunes’ work - under the Brazilian Modern Architecture’s scope, highlighting the importance of two aspects: its structural design, based on concrete, and the lines of the facades, covered with hollow prefabricated elements, the ‘cobogós’ (whose use may have been aesthetic or functional). At the end are commented the interventions/renovations in the building, carried out in 1970 and 2008-2010 and connecting them to controversial questions related to patrimonial (inheritance) conservation. | pt_BR |
